Misleading ads continue non stop

See this attached ad for pollution detox by this company Himalaya which also misleads consumers like Patanjali.

Why do media people not look at these ads. Why is the Government not acting against them?

Serious shame on consumer affairs ministry. All these misleading ads and surrogate gutka ads in front pages and tv prime time. more

Patanjali and Himalaya misleading the consumers. Himalaya following Patanjali's example. Both are misleading qualitative claims. more
People cannot be naive to advertising. We need to use our intelligence and perform the enquiries that are necessary when a product makes tall claims. There is a thin line between mis-selling and a hyperbole. We need to see through it instead of always expecting the government to monitor and play nanny. Government can make broad regulations but people have to use their common sense. Advertisement will be larger than life but no one forces us to buy a product! We make that decision forgetting the commercial doctrine of Caveat Emptor (buyer's beware i.e. it is expected that buyer's make sufficient enquires and satisfy themselves before buying a product). more
Thank you Chopra ji. Action is needed more
Yes they are but that is what free non socialist countries do. Many in the country have jobs because of them, like this newspaper made money on advertising. I don't buy it and no one can MAKE ME BUY it. So why is this group so shook up about it? more
All are sailing in the same boat - be it Himalaya, Patanjali, Dabur and so on. It's a sales tactic practiced by many. more
exactly, almost all FMCG companies do misleading ads, dont just single out patanjali and Himalaya. Look at what lizol ads from Hindustan lever do, they claim 99% germ cleaning , when anyone with bare biology knowledge will tell you that microorganisms multiply by more than twice every moment, so that 1% will become 2,4,8,16,32% etc in no time, so no actual germ control by that floor cleaner. no point in singling out .. The advertising standards council is filled with Ad people who have vested interests. more
