Expensive Defective Products Redressal

Is one area where the Govt has not done much. Many of us buy an expensive gadget like laptop, mobile or even a car only to later find there is an inherent product defect like battery heating or airbag not working in a car.

The Govt needs a solid product recall framework and not just Right to Repair.

Can LC Manager pls take this up more

There are a plethora of consumer laws. This needs tight regulation, strict adherence to timelines and constant monitoring. Each regulator has to step out of their cozy rooms and check the pulse of the market from time to time. they need to take feedback and draft rules accordingly in the consumers interest. Right now, this is very limited. more

We have plenty of Laws, but its Implementation is VERY VERY Poor. Even if it happens, it takes very long time. more  
Unless every vehicle is crucially tested by an agency, and holding the agency responsible for all manufacturing and/ or workmen failures, the problem persist. more  
YES, WE NEED AN HONEST, DEDICATED, CONSUMER FRIENDLY, PROTECTION LAWS  MAKING AND IMPLEMENTATION AGENCY. THE LAWS MUST BE VERY STRINGENT AND DECISIONS SHOULD NOT TAKE MORE THAN A MONTH WITH QUICK HEARINGS.THAT ALONE CAN BRING DESIRED RESULTS.
