Addressing Concerns on Airfare During Kumbh Mela:
We have recently come across posts highlighting the exorbitant and unrealistic airfare structures for the Kumbh Mela. The term "LOOT" has understandably been used to describe this situation. While there may be justification in taking offense at such language on this platform, it is essential to recognize the helplessness and despair behind these expressions.
Ours is a nation deeply rooted in spirituality, religious devotion, and a sense of gratitude to the Almighty. For many, pilgrimage is not merely a journey but a sacred duty—a way to seek God, present their prayers, and give thanks for blessings received. It brings a sense of immense satisfaction and fulfillment, transcending economic divides.
For this reason, people cannot simply "count their blessings" from the confines of their homes. They feel compelled to travel to specific places of worship, temples, and shrines to offer their devotion. Even though God expects nothing material from us, these acts of offering provide a profound sense of inner peace and connection for the devotees.
Given this, it is reasonable for citizens to expect the government to step in, ensuring adequate facilities and special arrangements during such spiritual events. The onus is on the authorities to prevent commercial exploitation of these occasions by private establishments. For instance, an airfare of ₹37,000—more than 20 times the cost (Delhi Varanasi Vandhe Bharat Fare ₹ 1,809 for R CC , EC 3,500 with Food ) of other transportation options—is simply unjustifiable.
Our government and the honorable ministers concerned must intervene to curb such exploitative practices. Ensuring fair and reasonable transportation costs for all, irrespective of their economic status, aligns with the principles of a just and inclusive society. -- Jai Hind!

The airlines are charging 6 to 8 times of normal fares for Prayagraj and back during these 40 days of Kumbhmela but the government has done nothing till now to compel the airlines to refrain from profiteering on this auspicious occasion.

only dgca and civil aviation need to given a pinch to wake them up.they are getting paid by the tax that salary people get and for that they do not work at all and are all sleeping and are comfortable not working and siting in an airconditioned office and getting paid for doing nothing on issues which are critical

If people don't buy these exorbitantly priced tickets, airlines won't have any choice other than to bring them down

Yes we are spiritual and religious. Airlines are here to do business. When the whole country prefer to visit all religious place in normal course or on specific occasion, definitely the main earnings of Airlines comes from such routes and events. They are in business and not doing charity. Apart from Airlines, there are number of cheap options are available to travel. Only problem is that apart from airlines other means are time consuming and crowded.
